In order to truly savour Mexico, the interesting civilizations which have, for centuries, crossed its path,and the thousands of fascinating,contradictory facets of its capital city, one would have to take a leap back into the past and try to imagine Hernan Cortés’ impression that day in March, 1519, when he first set eyes on Tenochtitlán,
the white Aztec metropolis,with its pyramids and palaces crowned with gardens,
all casting their reflection into a blue lagoon.
